Pornography's Relationship to Rape and Sexual Violence
According to one study, they linked that exposure to pornography at an early age (under fourteen years of age) was usually followed by imprudent acts of sexual violence, particularly rape. Over one-third of child molesters and rapists have put forward that they have occasionally been encouraged to commit offenses of sexual violence due to exposure to pornography. Among the child molesters and rapists that claimed only to be encouraged, the study also did prove that about 53% of them used the source (pornography) as an incentive to willfully, with intent, commit an act of sexual violence.

In one study that solely committed to convicted child molesters, 77% of molesters that targeted mainly underage males and 87% of molesters that mainly targeted underage females admitted to daily use of pornography in function of their own crimes toward sexual violence. There are many ways that pornography affects child molestation. Not only does it stimulate the offender, but as an example, pedophiles use pornography as tools to help them demonstrate to children what they want them to do and to also arouse a child and lower their guard. They also used pornography as way to show that what is shown in particular is alright and/or okay. For example, to say that "They are enjoying it, so can you" or also "It is fun, I assure you".

Children can often imitate what they have seen, read, or heard. Studies suggest that when children are exposed to pornography it can prompt kids to act in forms of sexual violence towards other younger, smaller, and more vulnerable children. Professionals that work in the fields of sexual child abuse, report that sexual activity in very young children usually always suggest two very possible stimulants: experience and exposure. This just means that the child could have been molested and/or exposed to forms of pornography.
